Image processing is fundamental tool to support physicians in diagnosis, treatment and therapy. This lecture aims to give an overview for the most important image processing algorithms used in medical imaging and a detailed discussion of selected topics.
The focus of this lecture is on mathematical descriptions for general image processing with application examples in medical imaging to supply the students with fundamental concepts that are also of great value in many other fields.
