Curriculum Vitae
SVENJA IPSEN was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1990. She received her Master of Science from the Universität zu Lübeck in 2015. From 2013 to 2014, she worked at the Radiation Physics Laboratory at the University of Sydney, Australia, where she initiated an interdisciplinary project on the treatment of cardiac arrhythmia using MR-guided radiation therapy. For this work, she received a Young Investigator Award at the AAPM Meeting in 2014 and the Innovationspreis by the German Society for Radiation Oncology (DEGRO) in 2015. From 2015 to 2020, she worked as a researcher at the Institute for Robotics and Cognitive Systems at the Universität zu Lübeck in the field of 4D ultrasound (US) imaging. She focused on using 4D US for real-time image guidance during radiation therapy to compensate for target motion and was part of a project to automate US scanning procedures using a robot. In 2019, she completed her PhD with the doctoral thesis “See what you treat – 4D ultrasound imaging for real-time motion compensation of the liver”, for which she won the Behnken-Berger-Preis and the Fokusfinderpreis 2020. She joined the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Individualized and Cell-Based Medical Engineering IMTE in 2020.
